WHAT IS IT?
PRETTY, FUNNY WOMEN is the longest running, all female stand-up comedy show in the country. Created in 1996, PFW is run, booked & hosted by comedienne & writer LISA SUNDSTEDT (aka The Heidi Fleiss of Comedy). PFW has been running strong in several venues for over 15 years including The Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas, The Comedy Stop at the Trop in Atlantic City, The La Jolla Comedy Store, The Commerce Casino and currently plays every month at the World Famous Hollywood Improv. It features a different line up each show with a roster of over thirty seasoned comics who can be seen regularly on network television series, national commercials, hit sitcoms, Comedy Central Specials & The Tonight Show w Jay Leno. Some of the women who have been featured in PFW over the past decade are Sarah Silverman, Chelsea Handler, Sherri Shepherd, Margaret Cho & Aisha Tyler. All the comics from Lisa’s roster are hip, sexy, fun and hysterical!  Stand up comedy has never looked so good.

WHAT MAKES IT UNIQUE?
Individually, these comics work colleges and clubs across the country. PFW features an amazing line up of five of these women doing their BEST 20 minutes. The tone of the show is sexy, irreverent, & smart. These comics are pros who have been working with each other for years. The chemistry between Lisa, the comics & the audience is unlike any other show out there.

People often ask me, "how'd PFW get started"? Let me tell you! ..Pretty, Funny Women started in 95 as an industry showcase and has been running every month in various venues across the country ever since. PFW has helped launch many comedy careers due to the exposure including Chelsea Handler, Tig, Heather McDonald, Natasha Leggero, Trish Suhr, Vicki Barbolak & many, many more. What started as a simple showcase has now expanded into a nationally recognized brand, comedy school for women & showcase with over 500 alumni. PFW is a platform for women who want to showcase their brains, wit & humor while wearing dresses, heels & make up. Pretty, Funny Women is not just a stand up comedy show...it's a night of women coming together to support & celebrate each other. Its an overall experience for the audience. From the moment the audience walks into the room, they will be entertained. The host, music, the opening videos the dancers the group bows and the overall vibe in the room at a PFW show is fun, inspiring and thoroughly entertaining. Because stand up is a male dominated field where most females are encouraged to be one of the boys, I created a platform for women to be women. I dont book comics who are too dirty or unoriginal. Rape jokes, abortion jokes, "Im a whore" jokes or any of the other easy "go to" premises that new comics often tend to gravitate toward are frowned upon unless they are incredibly smart. (Sarah Silverman does that beautifully...why bother?) My show is unapologetic, clean, irreverent & girlie. I love beautiful women & in my opinion, there is nothing more powerful than a smart, funny, attractive woman who owns her sexuality. Pretty, Funny Women are not self deprecating, mean or raunchy. A PFW is a woman who is genuinely true to herself. I encourage all of my students to discover their unique voice, find the beauty within and celebrate it!
